The introduction does mention this. In short, though this is a very good book, reading and understanding will take a bit of effort. Those who do not have a solid background in introductory and vector calculus and differential equations will have a tough time understanding the text. I still use it for reference. I have some experience in TRIZ already.The author gives nice examples of a particular technique of TRIZ. To add filler, about half the book is about how to hire someone from the employer's side. Do you hesitate to go into the home theater dept at Sears or Best Buy because you don't speak or understand the "techno jargon" of home theater gear? Are you afraid to buy home theater equipment because maybe you'll discover later that it was something you didn't really need because you didn't KNOW what the heck you were buying in the first place?
