Like the Beatles it will remain timeless.. I grew up in Oak Ridge in the 60's and 70's and my father worked on the Molten Salt Reactor Experiment. Chicago Outfit boss Al Capone, Murder Inc. I was working on the Shell - Mars platform in the Gulf of Mexico. Those guys write ecstatically and are often overly verbose, often unfocused. A funny and insightful read!. It provides great insight into the motivation of a group of physicists who discovered a seductive new technology and thought it could solve all of the world's problems.. After so many years in the APS, AAAS, NAS, NAE, RNAS, etc., he offers exciting perspectives into these topics that are not so commonly discussed since the Cold War ended.Weinberg's incredible life is well documented in this book, and his optimism that nuclear technology will rise again is inspiring on a very personal level for me (a reactor designer). Great book, but I am biased. Super interesting panorama about museology panorama that reflects and social statements for the world today. Full of great photos with concise explanations.
